Brazilian embroidery has become an art taught in many sewing schools around the world and it became famous due to its dimensional work and the rayon thread used in the artwork.

BrazilRoxx understands how important it is to educate customers about the fit of their jeans and the artwork involved on each pair.  These tips where created to help you find the perfect fit.

They don’t sell just “jeans” - they are selling a sensual look. That’s why their jeans are meant to be worn at close to maximum stretch. Sizing up is an option but you may need a belt.

The jeans are tighter when initially tried on, but loosen up very quickly. Don't feel intimidated by the tight fit. They will have great flexibility. In a few hours the jeans will mold themselves to your body and will stay that way until the next time they are washed. So you might say that if someone else in your house borrows your pants, you will likely know that they did!

Each pair takes many hours to be made and often travels to 3 different facilities before the final art is achieved. If you observe them closely, not a single pair is exactly the same. That’s due to the fact that each pair is handmade and no electronic embroidery is applied. In fact, there is NO computerized manufacturing of any kind at BrazilRoxx.

History of Brazilian embroidery

Embroidery, in its most basic terms, has been with us since time immemorial.  Over the centuries, basic stitches have evolved into the more complex and elaborate needleworks we know today.  Embroidery of any kind uses stitches known and used for hundreds of years in countless ways and for many different purposes.  Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery is no exception.  The difference is the stitches from all types of needlework.  Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery is a style of embroidering where you can choose from the whole palette of stitches and knots you know.

Another difference in this style of embroidery is the thread,  Rayon was introduced in the mid 1800's and by the turn of the century, was the first man-made fiber in full production.  Although it is man-made, rayon is not a synthetic fiber but a regenerated natural fiber (cellulose material, generally wood pulp).  Rayon has long been the preferred thread for this style of embroidery because of its sheen and smoothness.  Most stitches, especially bullions ( which are used extensively for their dimensional effect), are much easier to make because of the thread's smooth texture.

Now we come to the questions: If the stitches aren't Brazilian and rayon isn't Brazilian?  Then what does Brazil have to do with Brazilian embroidery?  Well, many times throughout history, credit goes not to the inventor, but to the ones who popularize an item,  Brazil started producing multicolored rayon threads in several weights.  The popularity of the thread spread rapidly grew throughout Brazil to the point where vareigated rayon embroidery became known as vari-cor embroidery.  It wasn't long before the rest of the world noticed its popularity and immediately adopted it as "Brazilian".

Today there are many organizations and an International Guild that are exclusively dedicated to the art and advancement of Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery.
